DAAD VORsprung: Online preparation for your STEM degree programme in Germany

Would you like to study maths, computer science, natural sciences or technology (STEM) in Germany? Would you like to optimally prepare for your studies, improve your German and start your STEM degree programme with us with ideal prerequisites? And all from the comfort of your own home in online format? With VORsprung, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers a digital study preparation programme for international prospective STEM students to make it easier for them to enter university and start their studies in Germany without any complications. What DAAD VORsprung offers

• 6-8 month online course
• completely free of charge
• Intensive course German as a foreign language from level B1.2 (CEFR)
• Specialised courses for your STEM studies - for all STEM subjects (you will find a list of funded study programmes below)
• Recognised exams (TestAS and TestDaF) with which you can apply directly for the Bachelor's degree programme at the University of Wuppertal
• Personal support from subject and language tutors
• Community feeling: get to know students from all over the world

 

Is DAAD VORsprung something for YOU?

Yes, if:

• you would like to start a Bachelor's degree programme in STEM (see list below!)
• you can already speak at least B1.2 (CEFR) German
• you would like to further improve your German language skills
• you want to prepare yourself optimally for your studies
• you are willing to study online in a disciplined and independent manner and prepare for the DAAD VORsprung exams
• refugees in Germany can also take part if they fulfil the requirements.

 

DAAD VORsprung programme

Total duration: 6-8 months (max. 37 weeks)
Workload: 25-30 hours per week

1. prepare for your studies in Germany (6-8 months)

• Intensive German language course - depending on language level from B1.2 (6 weeks)
• Introductory weeks (2 weeks)
• Specialised courses + preparatory language modules depending on the degree programme (24 weeks)
• Individual exam preparation (2 weeks)

2. take examinations

• TestDaF (German), find a TestDaF test centre worldwide
• TestAS (subject-related aptitude), find a TestAS test centre worldwide

3. apply for a Bachelor's degree programme

• Apply for an admission-free STEM degree programme at a partner university - for example at the university of Wuppertal, later also for admission-restricted programmes with a later start date
