DAAD VORsprung - digital preparation for a STEM degree programme in Germany

Do you dream of studying in Germany - preferably in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences or technology? With VORsprung, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will get you there in just a few months: well prepared, linguistically fit and optimally equipped in your subject. All free of charge, completely online and directly from your home country. The programme is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and will start its next round in March 2026. You can apply until 15 January 2026.

Who can take part in DAAD VORsprung?

DAAD VORsprung is aimed at anyone who:

  • would like to start a STEM bachelor's programme in Germany,
  • have acquired the so-called "indirect university entrance qualification" in their home country,
  • speak at least B1.2 German and
  • are motivated to learn independently online.
  • Refugees in Germany can also take part if they fulfil the requirements.

 

DAAD VORsprung and studying in Germany - this is how it can work:

1. prepare for studying in Germany (6-8 months)

  • 6 weeks: optional intensive German course (for participants with level B1.2)
  • 2 weeks: Introduction to the programme
  • 24 weeks: Specialised courses + preparatory language modules
  • 2 weeks: flexible breaks or individual exam preparation
