Health insurance

If you are a member of a statutory health insurance in the EU or EFTA countries, you can also claim benefits in other European countries using International Form E109, E 111 or E 112 or the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
Before your departure, please contact your health insurance company to find out to what extent this agreement is valid for your stay in Germany and apply for the necessary insurance form or insurance card. The e-form or EHIC must be presented at the International Office upon enrollment.

If you do not have health insurance or if you do not have health insurance that is recognized in Germany, you must either take out insurance with a German statutory health insurance or take out private health insurance and then be exempt from statutory health insurance for the semester(s) of your stay at the University of Wuppertal.
Please submit the confirmation of your private health insurance as well as the exemption letter for your documents.
