Anyone interested in studying the so-called STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and keen to find out how they can help shape a sustainable future should visit the University of Wuppertal on 7 July. Of course, the general public is also welcome to attend both events.
‘Your Future – Your Technology’ – Schhol of Electrical, Information and Media Engineering, 10 am to 2 pm, Freudenberg campus
At numerous hands-on stations across the Freudenberg campus (Rainer-Gruenter-Straße), participants can immerse themselves in virtual worlds, experience exciting applications of artificial intelligence, carry out their own technical projects and gain exclusive insights into the university’s laboratories. They will also learn about the faculty’s current research projects, the methods used and the technical equipment employed. Furthermore, the school will provide information not only on the range of degree programmes on offer but also on the possibility of securing a scholarship.
In a relaxed summer party atmosphere, visitors will be treated to barbecued food and refreshing drinks in the central car park in front of the lecture theatre complex.
Schools can register in advance to arrange specific times for guided tours. Otherwise, simply drop by between 10 am and 2 pm. Full details of the programme: https://uni-w.de/mkdnp
Science Quest – School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, 12 noon to 4 pm, Grifflenberg campus
In an interactive STEM trail, participants embark on a scientific journey of discovery through the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences on the Grifflenberg campus. At various stations in laboratories and institutes, experiments, puzzles and exciting tasks in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and biology await. Along the way, visitors will gain insights into scientific work, explore different locations, tackle scientific challenges and, as they make their way through the faculty, gather plenty of information about the various degree programmes available here.
From 12 noon to 4 pm, the Science Quest is open to anyone interested, with no registration required . Visitors start in Building K (Grifflenberg campus, Gaußstraße 51) and can explore the Science Quest stations from there.
