Exhibition at the Pina Bausch Centre showcases students’ perspectives on community

How do places where people enjoy coming together come about? Students at the university of Wuppertal are exploring this question in the exhibition “Common Spaces – Spaces of Community”, which is taking place on 10 and 11 July at the Pina Bausch Centre (Bundesallee 260, Wuppertal).

Students from the fields of industrial design, art and architecture are presenting work on spatial structures, communal dining, performative situations and manifestos, as well as sustainable housing and lifestyles. The focus is on the question of how design can facilitate encounters, exchange and collective action.

Friday, 10 July, 7 pm to 11 pm
Dinner, Manifestos and Situations

The students invite visitors to cook and dine with them and will shape the evening with installation-based works and performative interventions. Artistic contributions from invited guests will open up further perspectives on community, encounters and the exhibition venue.

Saturday, 11 July, 12 noon to 9 pm
Performances_BSB presents Peers and Pioneers rotting on a Sofa

On Saturday, the focus is on performances and artistic contributions. Under the title “Blue Sugar Boundaries presents Peers and Pioneers rotting on a Sofa”, a link is forged between “Common Spaces – Spaces of Community” and the exhibition “Merry Company” at the Kunsthalle Barmen.
