The International Students Team Wuppertal (I.S.T.) is a student initiative of the university of Wuppertal. The team is made up of students who have already gained experience abroad on an exchange programme and now volunteer to help international students find their way around everyday life in Germany and Wuppertal more easily.

Together with the BUW's International Office , we organise excursions to regional highlights and events. The weekly International Stammtisch, get-togethers and parties are an integral part of our programme. We would like to actively support you as international students and bring you together with German students.

The I.S.T. is a student initiative under the umbrella of the International Centre - Department International Office, which is committed to international and intercultural exchange across faculties and supports Wuppertal students in preparing and carrying out study-related stays abroad as well as international students at the University of Wuppertal in orientation, integration and networking.
In an additional function, the I.S.T. is registered as a "Local ERASMUS Initiative (LEI)" with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The activities of the I.S.T. are diverse and are supported by the International Office with funds from the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Through the dialogue between local students and international incomings, intercultural skills are developed on both sides and language skills are improved. With their voluntary work, the student I.S.T. members add an individual student component to the support services offered by the University of Wuppertal.
