In Touch: International Welcome Days
Welcome to the university of Wuppertal!
The International Office warmly invites all international students who are new at the University of Wuppertal (BUW) to the ‘In Touch Welcome Days’.
From 7 to 10 October 2026, you can look forward to a varied programme featuring essential orientation guidance, practical tips for everyday student life and plenty of opportunities to make new friends and connections.

Wednesday, 7 October 2026:
Jump into German Student Life
Venue: Kirche an der Uni (Grifflenberg campus)
10.00 am: Jump into German Student Life (compact introductory sessions)
1.00 pm: Shared pizza lunch & fresh smoothies
2.00 pm: Social activities & icebreakers
5.00 pm: Campus tour (Grifflenberg campus)
Thursday, 8 October 2026:
International Student Induction Day
10.00–11.00: Opening remarks & welcome presentation
(Note: Takes place simultaneously in two separate lecture halls)
- Lecture Hall 32 (in English): For students on English-taught degree programmes, as well as Erasmus and exchange students
- Lecture Hall 33 (in German): For students on German-language degree programmes
11.00 – 13.00: Open discussion, Q&A sessions & networking
Venue: Lecture Hall 33 (for all students from both sessions together)
An open space for your individual questions, to chat with the team and get to know one another.
1.00 pm: Complimentary Lunch at the University Canteen (Mensa)
The International Office warmly invites all new international students to a free lunch in the university canteen.
7.00 pm: International get-together with the I.S.T.
The first social get-together of the term, offering a chance to get to know one another and chat in a relaxed atmosphere – organised by the International Student Team (I.S.T.).
Friday, 9 October 2026:
Discover Wuppertal & Meet & Greet
12:00: Bus tour: Discover the City of Wuppertal
A city tour by bus to explore Wuppertal and the region’s highlights.
(Meeting point to be announced after registration)
2.00 pm: Meet & Greet (Meet session)
Venue: BBD Campus, Room BBD.04.54 (University Hall)
A relaxed get-together, networking and an opportunity to ask individual questions.
