Between collaboration and academic competition: lecture on interdisciplinarity
The Studium fundamentale has been an integral part of the degree programme at Witten/Herdecke University for more than 40 years. Since November 2025, a doctoral thesis at the Wuppertal Chair of General Educational Science has been looking at how the Witten model has developed over the past four decades and what impetus it can provide for the future. // Photo UW/H | Johannes Buldmann
Professor Dr Karen van den Berg studied art history, classical archaeology and Nordic philology in Saarbrücken and Basel. From 1993 to 2003, she worked at the University of Witten/Herdecke, where she developed projects such as "art in dialogue".
