From the root to the cult snail - the history of liquorice

The serial production of liquorice began in Germany 100 years ago. Julia Bornhorst is a food chemist at the University of Wuppertal and knows what is in this versatile sweet. In the Jahr100Wissen interview, the professor explains why liquorice should be enjoyed in moderation and also reveals what Alexander the Great intended with it.
