Prof Schneider has been working at the University of Wuppertal since 2004. Her research focuses on the economics of education and empirical tax research. Since 2023, she has chaired the Council for Social and Economic Data, which advises the German government on issues relating to data access for research. Schneider is also a member of the extended board of the RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research.
