MCDM
International conference at the University of Wuppertal
Under this year's motto "Better Decisions for a Better Tomorrow", almost 190 scientists from 28 countries came to the University of Wuppertal. In more than 130 presentations, the participants discussed current research questions and areas of application in the field.
"The exciting thing about multi-criteria optimisation is that solutions have to be found taking into account different, sometimes contradictory criteria," explains Professor Kathrin Klamroth. Among other things, this involves the mathematical formulation of corresponding problems, efficient solution methods and the determination of alternative solutions that are relevant for decision-makers.
The approaches presented are used in numerous areas - for example in healthcare, artificial intelligence, logistics and route planning.
