The event
Challenging times: Bergische Uni invites you to a dialogue on future narratives and sustainable change
In the "Narrative Futures" project, researchers at the University of Wuppertal looked at the role of different future narratives in transformation processes // Photo Colourbox
Under the title "Future for all? Narrative & Social Transformation", academics and practitioners will also discuss these questions on the panel: Which visions of the future appeal to people from different backgrounds? What formats and spaces are needed so that change can be shaped sustainably and inclusively together?
The audience is invited to actively shape the debate.
On the podium:
- Britta Acksel (Wuppertal Institute),
- Karoline Augenstein (transzent, University of Wuppertal),
- David J. Becher (Utopiastadt),
- Dennis Cibula (WP8 Artists' Association)
The panel discussion is part of the "Narrative Futures" research project, which is based at transzent and funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. The project investigates the role that narratives of the future play in transformation processes - for example in the climate movement, in urban development and in real-world laboratories.
The event will take place at KreativRaum D on Worringer Platz in Düsseldorf - a place for civil society dialogue that is itself part of a real-world laboratory project on urban development.
Date: Panel discussion "Future for all? Narrative & social transformation", Thursday, 19 March 2026, 7 to 9 pm, KreativRaum D, Worringer Platz 20, Düsseldorf. Admission free.
