As part of the cooperation between the University of Wuppertal and Openbank Deutschland AG, the Welcome Santander Scholarship is awarded. International applicants can receive a one-off grant of 1.000 euros as part of the programme.
The Welcome Santander Scholarship supports international applicants at the beginning of their Master's programme and helps to cover one-off start-up costs, in particular
- security deposit
- semester contribution
- relocation costs
- study materials
International applicants for a Master's programme who:
- have a first university degree from abroad
- are applying for a Master's degree programme in the STEM subjects (engineering or natural sciences) at the University of Wuppertal
- fulfil the formal admission requirements for a Master's degree programme
- are enrolled at the BUW upon admission
- The grant is a one-off payment of 1,000 euros.

Application confirmation from the Bergische University Wuppertal

Bachelor's degree certificate (including final grade)

Motivation letter

If applicable, additional documents (certificate of enrollment, admission letter, etc.)
The scholarship will be paid out after successful enrolment at the University of Wuppertal.
ℹ️ Important note
The awarding of degree scholarships is subject to the availability of funding. There is no legal entitlement to funding.
The application period is from 29 May 2026 - 29 July 2026
