All degree programmes you cannot apply for via uni-assist as well as other exceptions are listed on the website of the International Student Admission and Registration Office.
Please upload the following documents in you uni-assist account:
- The application form must be filled in via My assist.
- Passport copy
- If you apply for a Bachelor degree programme: school leaving certificates as well as an overview of all subjects including grades and results achieved. Depending on your country of origin and your desired course of study, additional documents may sometimes be required, e.g., proof of passing a university entrance examination.
- When applying for an undergraduate degree programme without direct university entrance qualification the certificate of the ‘assessment test’ or the TestAS certificate is required.
You can check which application conditions apply to you on the database of the German government anabin (in German available only); on uni-assist or on the website of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD.
Please add a proof of a successfully completed academic year, if available.
- If you apply for a Master degree programme, please hand in your Bachelor degree certificate and Transcript of Records.
- If you apply for a subject which is part of the Master of Education degree programme, please add the acceptance letter from the Master's Examination Board.
- If you are currently enrolled or you were enrolled at a German university in the past, please add your current or last enrolment certificate including the number of regular semesters and the number of university semesters.
- If you have already completed pre-semester courses in an identical degree programme at a German university, please add your Certificate of non-objection.
- If necessary, please add a proof of aptitude. Please check the admission requirements for the desired degree programme, to find out whether you have to take an aptitude test or not. Proof of aptitude can also be submitted after admission until the end of the enrolment period. The proof of aptitude does not need to be submitted with the application if you applied for a degree programme in conjunction with a German course.
- Applicants with a university entrance qualification from Vietnam, China, or India: APS certificate.

If you apply for a higher semester, please add a proof of academic achievements and/or examinations already completed.
Please hand in both the original version of the documents listed below and the certified English or German translation.
In addition, you have to hand in one or several language certificates.
If you apply for a German-language degree programme you have to provide proof of German language proficiency at C1 level.You can either prove your language skills by submitting a recognised language certificate or a certificate of attendance or a registration confirmation for a German course or a German language examination recognised by the University of Wuppertal.
For degree programmes with restriction on admission, proof of German language proficiency must be submitted to uni-assist by the end of the application period.
- Applicants for the master’s degree programme “Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy” need to provide proof of German language skills at level C2.
- If you apply for an English-language degree programme (Bachelor’s in Sustainable Chemistry, Master’s in Applied Economics, Master’s in Computer Simulation in Science, and Master’s in Smart Materials and Systems), please search for the desired degree programme and check the language requirements.
