Traditionally, the proceeds from the casino and raffle at the University Ball are donated to charity. This year, the proceeds of almost 8,000 euros will go to the Wuppertal education project Kinderhaus Luise Winnacker e. V., which has been committed to providing fair educational opportunities and social support for children and young people in the region for 30 years.

University Rector Prof. Dr Birgitta Wolff presented the cheque for 7,887 euros to Kerstin Spitzl today. Kinderhaus Luise Winnacker e. V. was delighted with the support: "The funds will go directly to projects that give children in Wuppertal access to education, support and reliable carers.

Kinderhaus Luise Winnacker e. V. supports children and young people with a wide range of activities to strengthen their life and everyday skills - from shopping, cooking and eating together, urban gardening and experiencing nature to learning to ride a bike. The aim is to treat young people with respect and to strengthen their personal development in the long term. At the same time, the student teachers involved have the opportunity to gain important practical experience for their future careers.
