Talking about Israel and Palestine - without polarisation and fear

30.10.2025|13:35 Uhr

How can spaces be created for conversations about Israel and Palestine beyond polarisation and fear? The anti-discrimination offices of the University of Wuppertal and Ruhr University Bochum are inviting students to an online discussion with the Trialoge project on 6 November from 4 to 6 p.m., which is dedicated to the major challenge of making the topic discussable.

The trialogue with the speakers Lili Zahavi and Ahmad Dakhnous offers a protected space for a reflective exchange about experiences, affiliations and discourses on Israel and Palestine in the German university context. The focus is on social and communicative dynamics at the university: How is the topic discussed? What experiences do students have? And where do exclusions, silence or mistrust arise?

The event explicitly positions itself against anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian racism. The aim is to make diverse perspectives visible without relativising discrimination, explain the cooperating anti-discrimination agencies in the event announcement.
