Door opener day
Open the doors with the mouse in the high-voltage laboratory at the University of Wuppertal

The 30-minute events will take place at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Due to the limited number of 30 participants per event, please register at jkessler[at]uni-wuppertal.de. Please state your preferred time and the number of participants.
The devices in the high-voltage laboratory can generate very high electrical voltages - more than 1000 times greater than the voltage in the socket at home. On Door Opener Day, the university staff will demonstrate how much voltage the insulator of a high-voltage line can withstand before it cracks open.
"Doors Open!" is a WDR campaign that was launched in 2011 to mark the 40th birthday of the mouse and its "Laughing and Non-fiction Stories". Children (and adults) are to experience factual stories at all Door Opener Day events, as they are usually shown on Sundays at 11.30 a.m. in the "Sendung mit der Maus" programme.
