One of the evening's highlights will be the famous Symphony No. 3, also known as the "Organ Symphony", by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns - an impressive monumental work. To do justice to the tonal diversity of the piece, conductor Christoph Spengler invites his Young Orchestra Remscheid to join the UNI Orchestra. A novelty at the final concerts, which triggers great anticipation among conductor and musicians alike. The impressive organ part will be played by Dariia Lytvishko, a young organist from Ukraine who is currently building up her international concert career.
The orchestra will also play a medley of the theme tunes from the classic James Bond films - from the famous 007 theme to "For Your Eyes Only", "Live And Let Die" and "Goldfinger".
The UNI Choir will perform both modern songs and classics that have been rehearsed during the current summer term. The choir will present the intense piece "Believer" by Imagine Dragons, the big hit from 2024 "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, the catchy tune "Feeling Good", a mash-up of the songs "Go The Distance" (from "Hercules") and "Defying Gravity" (from "Wicked"), the James Bond hit "Skyfall", the moving song "Hwo They Remember You" and the virtuoso "Words" by the Real Group.
Tickets are available as usual at www.wuppertal-live.de or at the box office.
Tickets cost 14 euros at the box office (concessions 12 euros) and 12 euros in advance (concessions 10 euros).
Apropos UNI Choir
One week after the final concerts, the UNI Choir will be travelling to Duisburg with 40 singers. The opening ceremony of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, also known as the Student Olympic Games, will take place in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena on 16 July. Accompanied by the WDR Funkhausorchester and together with singers from other NRW universities, the UNI Choir will sing the national anthem, the Steigerlied and the student anthem Gaudeamus igitur to get the audience and athletes in the mood for the two-week multi-sport event.
