Europe makes school

International students enrich teaching in the region

Experiencing the whole world in the classroom, building cultural bridges and bringing young people from Europe and beyond into exchange with each other - this is what the Europa macht Schule (EmS) programme stands for. Since October, the University of Wuppertal (BUW) has been a new location for the nationwide EmS project of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

As part of the programme, international students visit school classes in the region and develop small projects on their countries of origin together with the learners. The aim is to strengthen intercultural skills, broaden perspectives and integrate the topic of "Europe" into lessons in a lively way. The students are free to organise their own teaching units.

Teachers and international students are cordially invited to become part of the project and bring "the world into the classroom". The first joint meeting will take place on 4 December 2025 at 5 p.m. in room K.11.20 at the University of Wuppertal. The project will be presented at the meeting and there will be an opportunity to get to know each other and clarify organisational questions.
