On 13 May, companies from the automotive supply industry (AZI) and representatives from politics, administration, science and the social partners met at the Alte Maschinenhalle in Solingen. The focus was on the question of how the necessary transformation of the automotive supply industry in the Bergisch region can be supported and shaped by the many small and medium-sized supplier companies.

There was agreement that change can only succeed through joint, immediate action by companies, employees and politicians. In her keynote speech, Minister Mona Neubauer emphasised the importance of regional transformation networks such as TRAIBER.NRW and announced the further expansion of support measures.

Specific projects in the areas of securing skilled labour, location attractiveness and knowledge transfer strengthen the competitiveness of companies. Christian Vietmeyer (WSM) called for better production conditions and the promotion of new value-added areas such as semiconductors, batteries and AI in order to secure the automotive industry in Germany. The event emphasised that people are the key to transformation and that social partnership cooperation is essential for success.
