A lively network: FABU members' meeting and summer party

The Friends and Alumni Association of the University of Wuppertal, FABU for short, combined its general meeting with a summer party this year. Around 90 guests accepted the invitation to the Johannes Rau Centre on the Freudenberg campus. Not only did a varied programme await them there, but there was also the opportunity for intensive exchange and active networking.

The increasing number of members, including six new premium members, is evidence of how active the network is. In addition, the association is about to establish a new section with the school of art and design. The unanimous re-election of the Executive Board was a clear sign of the trust and desire to continue on the chosen course.

The Board in turn had good news for the university and announced the funding amount of 28,000 euros agreed at the previous Board meeting. FABU uses this money to support various initiatives and organisations at the University of Wuppertal, whose projects promote, among other things, local student and social engagement.

There were also plenty of insights for the guests at the Freudenberg campus: on a guided tour of the Johannes Rau Library and in dialogue with University Rector Prof. Birgitta Wolff, who reported on current university events.

The relaxed atmosphere, lively discussions and the great response are proof of this: FABU is an active and lively part of the university community.
