At the Bergische Expo '25 on 16 and 17 May, numerous exhibitors from the retail, industry and service sectors as well as local institutions will be presenting themselves in Wuppertal city centre. The University of Wuppertal will also be taking part in the skilled labour fair.

The central student guidance and counselling services of the University of Wuppertal start early in the educational career of young people and show academic paths into the professional world. At the Expo, it provides information about the attractive degree programmes at the university and offers interested parties many opportunities for study orientation with taster courses, study information days, university internships and advisory services.

The Bergisches Schul-Technikum (zdi centre BeST) forms an important part of the education chain in the Bergisches Land region and offers pupils interested in technology at all types of school from year 7 onwards the opportunity for early career guidance. The highlight is the humanoid robot "Pepper", which provides all the information about the university and the BeST courses. BeST will also be showcasing exciting course exhibits and will have a number of hands-on activities such as a robot battle arena.

Three researchers will also be giving keynote speeches:

  • 16 May, approx. 3.45 pm: Prof. Dr Hendrik Heuer on "Why disinformation remains a problem and what we can do about it anyway"
  • 16 May, approx. 5.30 p.m.: Dr Tim Katzwinkel on "Resource-efficient product development"
  • 17 May, approx. 11.30 a.m.: Prof. Dr Fabian Hemmert on "What is research?"

More than 50 exhibitors are taking part in the Bergische Expo. They will be available as contacts for skilled workers, trainees and students and offer a wide range of exciting fields of activity. The stands are spread across the Döppersberg directly at the main railway station and extend right up to the City-Arkaden.
