"Interdisciplinary cooperation is a central driver of innovation in research and teaching," emphasised Rector Prof. Dr Birgitta Wolff. The interdisciplinary exchange opens up new perspectives and promotes cooperation. During the event, the newly appointed professors provided insights into their fields of research, from the social sciences to the natural and engineering sciences to educational research. At the get-together that followed, the professors were able to deepen their discussions and discover possible starting points for joint projects. "The major issues of our time - such as climate protection, digitalisation and the strengthening of democratic values - require interdisciplinary answers," said Rector Wolff. "We are convinced that the new colleagues will enrich the academic profile of our university with their ideas and impulses."
