Farewell to a formative voice in social pedagogy - Gertrud Oelerich retires

Prof. Dr Gertrud Oelerich will hold her public farewell lecture on Friday, 21 November; on the same day, the end of her academic career will be celebrated with a symposium. The social pedagogue joined the University of Wuppertal in 2009 - initially as a research assistant, followed by her appointment as a professor two years later. After several years as Vice-Dean and Dean of the school of human and social sciences, she took over the position of Vice-Rector for Sustainable Organisational Development and Diversity in the university management of Rector Prof. Dr Birgitta Wolff in September 2022.

Companions, colleagues and anyone interested in Gertrud Oelerich's research and teaching are cordially invited to the farewell lecture "User research and critical youth welfare". The event will take place at 4.15 pm in lecture hall FZH 2 on the Freudenberg campus.

The symposium in the guest house on the Freudenberg campus is dedicated to current problems, perspectives and challenges of critical child and youth welfare. The focus will be on the discussion of central areas of tension and the question of future perspectives for research, theory and practice in this field.
