From the winter semester 2025/26, the team of the BUW project "Teacher Education Primary School and Special Needs Education International", L-GrIn+ for short, will organise two to three virtual lectures or workshops with international guest lecturers per semester in cooperation with 13 other universities. The aim is to provide impetus for key future skills, highlight current challenges and innovations and further strengthen international networking in teacher training.
To kick off the series of events, Laura Eigbrecht from the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University led a workshop on "Future Skills for Future Teachers: Discovering Challenges, Contexts and Tools". She provided insights into current developments in future skills research and presented practical approaches to promoting future skills in teacher training.
Further online events will follow on 6 and 26 November. Participation is open to all interested parties; registration is not required.
The Future Skills Forum is a joint initiative of 14 universities from Germany and their international partners. The series is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the "Lehramt.International" programme.
Further information on the event series can be found on the School of Education's project website
More background on the L-GrIn+ project
The project "Teacher Education Primary School and Special Needs Education International - L-GrIn+", led by Prof Dr Gela Preisfeld, has been carried out at the University of Wuppertal since the beginning of 2025 as part of the "Lehramt.International" funding line of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It builds on the successful predecessor project "L-GrIn" and expands it to include the perspective of special needs education.
The aim is to systematically and sustainably internationalise teacher training in Wuppertal. Students should gain international perspectives on schools and teaching through study and practical placements at European universities and schools as well as through international formats at their own university - such as spring schools in Wuppertal or joint courses with partner universities. These experiences make a significant contribution to the development of their professionalism in the teaching profession. Further information on L-GrIn+ can be found on the project website.
