What can education for sustainable development look like in the upper secondary school? This question is answered in the 805-page Global Development Curriculum Framework. More than 180 experts from science, professional associations and school practice developed it in 17 expert working groups for the individual school subjects on behalf of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Lecturers from the University of Wuppertal were also involved: Prof. Dr Claudia Bohrmann-Linde (Chemistry Education) led the Chemistry working group, in which Dr Rebecca Grandrath also participated, Prof. Dr Ulrich Heinen (Design Technology and Art History) led the Fine Arts working group and Prof. Dr Stefan Freund (Classics) was involved in the Ancient Languages working group.

According to the unanimous opinion of the Wuppertal academics, this once again proves that one of the great strengths of the University of Wuppertal lies in the cooperation between subject-specific sciences, subject-specific didactics with subject associations and school practice in current fields of school and teaching.
