The BeST team has used the summer break intensively to put together a varied programme for the coming school term. Registration opens tomorrow. With over 25 courses at more than 12 locations in the Bergisch city-triangle, BeST is once again demonstrating how practical career and study orientation can succeed across cities.
Further information on the courses and the opportunity to register can be found on the BeST website.
In addition to tried-and-tested classics such as programming and 3D printing, there are also exciting new formats this half-year:
- The cooperation course with the Erfurt company "Rauhfaser Reloaded: How waste paper becomes a sustainable innovation" is all about recycling and the circular economy.
- In the popular course "e-drive by Klauke: Build your own electric car", young people construct a functional electric car and immerse themselves in the world of electromobility.
- The "TicTacToe" project is being offered for the first time in all three cities - here, participants develop an electronic game board and programme their own strategy game.
- Those who want to shape the future can design a sustainable product and explore the path to the circular economy in the "Design the Future - Your Product for Tomorrow!" course at Circular Valley Wuppertal.
There is also a wide range of programming courses on offer, from "SMART Farming - Digitalisation in Agriculture" at the Bergische Universität school lab to "Experience, Discover, Develop - The Industrial Robot" at Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co.
Whether sustainability, robotics, programming or product design - there is something for everyone. The courses not only provide exciting insights into the world of maths, IT, natural sciences and technology (STEM), but also give young people the opportunity to test their interests and find out about possible career prospects.
The programme is free and voluntary, open to pupils of all school types and regardless of previous knowledge. As experience has shown that places are filled quickly, it is worth securing a place early.
About the Bergisches Schul-Technikum
The zdi centre BeST has been run by the university of Wuppertal since 2008. The project is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and the NRW Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency. Numerous companies in the Bergisch city-triangle also take part in the programme, giving young people the opportunity to get to know potential employers directly.
