Data protection policy of the International Centre, International Office of the University of Wuppertal
By submitting an online application through the "Mobility Online" portal for participation in the Erasmus+ program, you voluntarily provide us with personal information. By sending the application form, you allow the International Center - Department of International Office to collect, store, and use your personal data for the application and implementation of the Erasmus+ program. This also includes the transfer of personal information to the National Agency for EU Higher Education Cooperation and the European Commission, as well as, in the case of mobility for study purposes, to the foreign Erasmus+ partner university where your studies abroad will take place. The following data will be collected and stored as part of your online application:
- First name, last name
- your address
- Date of birth, place of birth
- Nationality
- your gender
- Your student e-mail address
- Student ID number
- Your degree program, including semester and associated faculty
- Information about your desired stay abroad* (country, host institution, duration of stay)
- Information on your foreign language skills
- Information on your grade point average
The above data is mandatory. In addition, you may provide us with further personal information as part of your application (e.g. whether you have a disability).
The legal basis for processing the data is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO). The legal basis for the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, which are carried out at the request of the data subject, is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO).
By submitting the forms, you consent to the storage and use of the personal information for the purpose described above. The submitted data will be used exclusively for the application and realisation of the Erasmus+ stay. If you do not complete the online application form, the relevant measures cannot be carried out.
We take the protection of your personal information very seriously. Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to receive information free of charge at any time about your stored personal data, its origin, recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if necessary, a right to correct, block or delete the data.
Once your participation in the Erasmus+ programme has been completed, your personal data will be deleted after the statutory archiving periods have expired.
