Prof. Dr. Susanne Buch

Biography

Susanne Buch studied psychology at the University of Marburg. After graduating, she stayed in Marburg and worked as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology for six years, specializing in educational psychology and developmental psychology. In 2001, she completed her doctorate with a thesis on peer relationships of highly gifted adolescents. In 2006, she moved to Saarland University and became a Professor of Educational Sciences with a special focus on diagnostics, counselling, intervention. Since 2010, Susanne Buch has been Professor of Educational Diagnostics at the University of Wuppertal.

At the University of Wuppertal, she has already served, inter alia, as a member of the Board of the School of Education, the Committee for Practical School Studies of the Joint Committee for Teacher Education (Gemeinsamer Studienausschuss, GSA) and the Advisory Commission for the Central Student Guidance and Counselling Services, as Chair of the Central Examinations’ Committee of the GSA, and first as Deputy and subsequently as Chair of the Council for the Institute for Educational Research.

In 2020, she received one of the awards "Uni@Home-Sonderlehrpreise" for excellent teaching in digital mode during the COVID-19 pandemic bestowed by the University of Wuppertal

Susanne Buch has been Vice-President for Studies and Teaching since 1st September 2022.
