Support of junior academics
The University of Wuppertal supports the qualification of young academics in all stages of their careers. The Centre for Graduate Studies (ZGS) is the central body for doctoral students and those interested in pursuing a doctorate from all faculties; it offers advice on all issues of funding and the organisation of a doctorate. In addition, the Centre supports networking and the research activities of doctoral students. The Research Services offers advice on national, European and other international programmes in the context of funding of postdoctoral studies.
Our research training groups and networks, collaborative research centres, research groups and research networks offer special institutional options for doctoral students and postdocs.
A continuing education programme and a career service support successful career paths from doctoral studies to professorships or also for a career outside academia. To ensure equal opportunities and diversity in staff development, the University of Wuppertal also makes use of targeted support programmes and a system of incentives to support female junior academics.
