Applying for the Energiepreispauschale

By law of December 21st  2022 the so called „Studierenden-Energiepreispauschalengesetz (EPPSG) “ has come into effect, which is supposed to relieve the financial pressure of the rising energy costs for students at higher education institutes. With it, students who were matriculated at University of Wuppertal on the qualifying date 01.12.2022 and whose domicile is in Germany (or was on that date) can apply digitally for a 200-euro one-off payment, the “Energiepreispauschale (EPP). This is also possible for part-time/PhD students and students who are on sabbatical. Observers, guest students, visiting students and participants in our preparatory German language course are not entitled for application, neither are persons who were exmatriculated before 01.12.2022 or enrolled after 01.12.2022.

It is imperative for entitled students to register with NutzerkontoBund and apply for a so-called BundID, without it, the application for the EPP is not possible. We recommend to register beforehand, should you not already possess the BundID. For personal identification, an online-ID (e.g. electronic identity card, electronic residence permit, EU-identity or Union Citizen Card) or a personal ELSTER-certificate is required.

The University of Wuppertal will provide every entitled student with the required individual access code (and, if necessary, an optional required PIN) on the home page of their personal university portal in StudiLöwe. Please note, that the systems HISinONE and StudiLöwe will be unavailable on 15.03.2023 due to maintenance work. We will therefore provide all students, who are entitled to apply, with the access code (and the optionally required PIN) via StudiLöwe  from 16.03.2023 onwards, so that they can then apply for payment of the 200-euro one-off payment in a timely manner. If you do not see the access code at the specified location, you can assume that you do not belong to the group of students eligible to apply. In principle, the personal access code provided is sufficient, but as an alternative (to online-ID or ELSTER certificate), it should also be possible to submit the application by entering a PIN. In this case, we will also provide the PIN. Students who have been exmatriculated at the end of the winter semester (30.03.2023) can also access this via the homepage of their personal university portal in StudiLöwe.

An exception applies to students who have been exmatriculated for the winter semester 22/23 on or after 02.12.2022 and who may no longer have access to StudiLöwe: persons in this group who are entitled to apply will receive an e-mail with the access code via their private e-mail address from 16.03.2023 - only if the e-mail address has been filed in StudiLöwe! Unfortunately, no e-mail can be sent to students who have been exmatriculated on or after 02.12.2022 and whose private e-mail address is not on file. We ask these persons to send a request to studsek[at]uni-wuppertal.de or intsek[at]uni-wuppertal.de enclosing an identification document as a pdf file (e.g. identity card) so that we can provide you with the access code.

It is expected that applications can be submitted via the website www.einmalzahlung200.de from 15 March until 30 September 2023 (Attention: this is the cut-off deadline!).
